Kerberus Acquires Pocket Universe in One of the Largest B2C Web3 Security Deals of the Year

August 21, 2025 - Kerberus, the leading consumer Web3 security company, has acquired the Pocket Universe software and 200,000 users in one of the largest crypto B2C security deals to date. 

Areta acted as exclusive financial advisor to Pocket Universe on this transaction. 

Pocket Universe has become one of the most trusted consumer protection tools in the crypto ecosystem. Delivered as a lightweight browser extension, Pocket Universe was designed to shield users from scams, phishing attempts, and malicious smart contracts in real time. 

By analyzing transactions before they are signed, Pocket Universe helps users stay safe while trading NFTs, swapping tokens, and interacting with DeFi protocols.

The product currently serves over 200,000 weekly active users, offering critical peace of mind in an ecosystem where one wrong click can result in irreversible losses.

Kerberus, the acquirer, is a rapidly expanding leader in Web3 security, best known for its AI-powered browser extension, Sentinel3 (formerly MintDefense), which is recognized for its industry-leading track record: 99.9% accuracy and zero reported user losses to date.

This marks Kerberus’ second acquisition in under a year, following its purchase of Fire in 2024, part of a broader strategy to unite the top consumer security tools into a single, default protection layer for Web3 users. 

Through this acquisition, Pocket Universe users will soon benefit from enhanced Solana protection and new AI-driven capabilities developed by Kerberus, further strengthening the overall user experience across all chains. This acquisition reflects the growing maturity of the crypto ecosystem, where consumer safety, user experience, and intelligent tooling are no longer “nice-to-haves,” but essential infrastructure.
